A hint of blue and orange

It’s such a pity my birthday is still six months away, because I already know which birthday card I’d like to receive and which necklace and print I want as present :-)

Unexpected beauty

Beauty can be found in much unexpected places. Okay now, be honest, who in this creative community doesn’t often buy a product just because of it’s beautiful package? I do! We already had loads of matchboxes in stock at home, but I couldn’t resist buying these. In fact, we had such large stock, the store I bought these doesn’t even exist anymore…

Following the rules of method monkey

My love learned me the basic principles of making pictures following the rules of method monkey (we call it Method Monkey in The Netherlands, in English I guess you say “monkey see monkey do”): he tells me which buttons to press or move on the camera and what the probable result on the picture will be, I follow his instructions and tadaa: the result is most of the time quite satisfying. I’m not made for hours and hours of schoollessons, I’m more of an immediate-result-person. It took great effort to make this picture thought, because the light kept reflecting in the glass of the cross-stitched birds, but finally I nailed it! Hope you’ll love it too!

Those where the days…

We found this beauty a long time ago at a thriftshop for about 15 euros. Me and this lamp go back a long time, since the tall version of it is still present in my parents house. As a child I found the shape of this lamp quite ridiculous, I just didn’t like the “sterile” plastic and the UFO-like design…I was more appealed to those old-fashioned lamps with shades made of hog’s blatter back then.
Luckily people change…

Seven is my lucky number

Lovely Diana of HomeMadeHappiness and Ozowiezo nominated me for the beautiful blogger award! The most fun part of this award is the fact that I now have to come up with 7 juicy details about myself and let’s be honest, haven’t you all been waiting for this moment? ;-DD

But first of all I need to thank Diana for her kind words about Planet Fur. Thanks girl, you’re the best!

Here we go!

1. I married in a green wedding dress and I would do it again (and with the same man ;-))

2. I love love love Sushi. Did I mention I love it? I LOVE it.

3. I have a very bad morning temper. It’s infamous. My day doesn’t start before 9 AM, even when my working day starts at 8.30 AM.

4. I have a fascination for WO II. Every summer holiday we go visit places like Pointe du Hoc in Normandy or other places in North France and I soak up all the information available there. I don’t know why it fascinates me so much, I guess it has something to do with the fact that my grandparents lived in those days and told me a lot about it.

5. My favorite flower is the Helleborus.

6. Horsebackriding was my hobby for about 7 years.

7. I’m a huge perfectionist.

And now the other great part about this award, the nomination of 7 great bloggers!

1. BabongoHome, because Nicole is such a lovely peoples person. Not only does she write the interviews with Dutch Etsians on DutchHandmade, she also interviews Etsians for her own blog and makes these lovely eco-friendly mobiles.

2. Kitty de Winter, because I think her lovely blog deserves all the exposure it deserves.

3. Mamutopia, maybe already nominated a thousand times, but I love her collages and her unique style.

4. Martice, because Marta is the GodMother of DutchHandmade and because all her efforts are really paying off.

5. Saravi, my lovely neighbour on the last craftfairs. She made the most beautiful pictures of her products, look here!

6. Work and Process of Marieke because I love the fresh and crispy feel of her products and blog.

7. DutchHandmade….nominated for the 2nd time in one week, but just because I think it’s such a great blog with great people and…and…and….

Well, that should be it! I’m looking forward to the upcoming juicy details :-)
