Merry and neon bright

Merry Christmas

Me and my neon spray-paint, we are friends forever. It’s a miracle that Molly still hasn’t got a hot pink tailtip. I like my vintage Eiffertower much more this way. I even think it would really work on the real one as well.

But what I really want to say is: have a great Christmas everyone out there! May it be merry, bright and cozy. xx

Merry Christmas

Out with the old, in with the new

The first Christmas decor

Het deed me (Alweer!

I love plastic animals. I string them to necklaces, use them as decoration for candleholders, Christmas trees or a gleeful garland around our kitchen lamp. I share this love with Martine, the lady who makes the magical diorama’s for each issue for Oh Marie! I keep looking at the last one she made, it’s so beautiful. As is her shop Le Diorama where she sells these plastic animals and other action figures. I’m sorry if I start to sound like a broken record, but this lady is so incredibly creative and talented that I will be plugging her ’till the day we both retire. And by the way, supporting hard working good friends with beautiful shops is never a bad thing, huh?

But, to get to the gleeful garland in the kitchen: it started to look a bit dusty and therefore scruffy so I felt it was time for a new one. I kept the new decor simple this time, just added some plastic trees I found in a thriftshop, a Bert the stag and a simple pompom garland. It made me realise (again!) how I love to work on little creative projects like this.

Spice up a West-Germany bowl

Easy DIY - Spice up a West-Germany bowl

I spiced up that West-Germany bowl with this super-easy DIY. The best DIY’s are the easy DIY’s don’t you think?

Plantenkoorts (plant fever)

Plantenkoorts

Fijne Moederdag!

A while ago I discussed it with blogfriends and in the meantime it’s no use denying it anymore: plants are hot. I cleaned out the cupboard again and made space on its top for some plain white (thrifted) pots that I decorated with my awning stickers and masking tape. Happy Mother’s day y’all!

Creepy crawlies garland

I designed a Creepy crawly garland for a production of HomeMade Happiness with Dutch magazine Kek Mama. It’s a variation on the Post-Christmas-garland that’s on the stripped lampshade in our kitchen. During the process, I also designed a Pirate-garland that I liked so much that I could not not share it here. They’re very easy to make, click here for the tutorial!
